 Biography

Poet, songstress, and writer, Marjorie Elaine Edwards-Forrester was born and raised on the beautiful and tropical island of Jamaica. Her passion for liberal and creative arts started from an early age when she began expressing herself through reciting nursery rhymes. Marjorie was recognized early for her talent, as a contender in the Jamaican Cultural Development Commission (JCDC) where she was awarded with several medals and certificates of merit while representing her school at various levels. After graduation, Marjorie attended the Jamaica National School of Drama, now known as Edna Manley School of the Performing Arts.

 

Marjorie attended Full Sail University where she earned her Bachelor Of Fine Arts in Creative Writing for Entertainment and now lives in South Florida as a freelance writer, a recording artist, and author of three poetry books, including: “Words From a Poet’s Soul” First and Second Editions and “Book of Inspirational Poems.” Marjorie creative work blends a mixture of folklore music in mento and reggae sounds to translates her poetry into music videos and albums. So far, she has three albums to her credit including “Mee An Mi Culture Songs,” “Dialects,” and “Words From A Poet’s Soul: Audio Poems.”

 

Marjorie’s strives to expand her ministry to fill the world with joy and a celebration of life with her storytelling, no matter what the medium or genre. She is currently developing fiction and non-fiction projects for adults and children, and expanding her reach into screenwriting. In the meantime, she listens for the music and words that come from her soul to share with others around the world.

 

Marjorie is also an experienced negotiator and Real Estate agent with over 12 years of experience. She practice in the South Florida region and specialize in property management and sales and purchases of residential and commercial properties
